Halle Berry confirms return to X-Men

March 4, 2013

There was some concern whether or not Halle Berry would return as Storm in the new X-Men movie.  While promoting The Call, Berry confirms that she will indeed be back as Ororo Munroe. “Yeah. I’m excited too. The fans really love Storm, and so I’m really happy that it’s worked out that way. No matter what my part will be or won’t be, to be a part of that is always a good thing. I love it.” Halle Berry joins an already impressive ensemble cast combining the cast from the first trilogy and the prequel X-Men: First Class.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Anna Paquin, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult and Omar Sy. The film is set to hit theaters July 18th, 2014.

I for one, am kind of on the fence with this sequel.  After watching X-Men: The Last Stand I realized it was pretty bad.  And then I thought about it and realized that the first two weren’t great either.  I liked them when they first came out, but now I feel they could have been done a lot better.  My main problem is with Bryan Singer who directed the first two films.

I question his knowledge of the characters and his vision for the films.  He directed Superman Returns that got blasted by fans.  He recently directed Mockingbird Lane, the failed attempt to reboot The Munsters, which wasn’t good either.  And recently directed Jack The Giant Slayer which is currently bombing at the box office.  His momentum from the X-Men films is fleeting and I personally feel that X-Men: Days of Future Past should go to somebody new with a fresh take and knowledge of the comics.
