Here is the official WWE.com statement confirming the tragic news:

Paul Bearer passes

WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years.

The first time I was ever exposed to professional wrestling was when I was very little.  I remember staying up and flipping through the channels in the living room when I stopped on something that caught my eye.  Growing up I loved monsters, whether it was Frankenstein or Freddy Krueger and what I saw in the ring was a monster, The Undertaker.  His opponent, Kamala, could not hurt him.  He was huge, dressed in black and you couldn’t see his pale face through his long black hair.  He seemed to gain power from an urn that his manager carried at ring side.  He moved slowly and methodical.  Would sit right up when knocked down and somehow could control the darkness in the arena.  Being a little kid who was into horror movies, this guy seemed awesome and I was hooked.

The Undertaker and Paul Bearer had a strong impact on me when I was younger and It saddens me that my personal favorite manager of all time has passed away.
