“Eastwood Directs” Doc focuses On Clint’s Directing Career

March 29, 2013

WBHE’s documentary “Eastwood Directs: The Untold Story” will premiere April 27th at the Tribeca Film Festival (April 17-28), followed by a panel with Clint Eastwood and moderated by Darren Aronofsky.

The new documentary is yet another walk with Eastwood from his buddy, film critic and historian Richard Schickel, who has made a career out of celebrating Eastwood’s legacy. He’s penned a biography, another retrospective book, and the film “The Eastwood Factor.” The new documentary focuses on Eastwood’s directorial style as experienced by many of his closest collaborators. Included interviewees are Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep, Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman.

“Eastwood Directs” will be released on June 4 as part of an Eastwood 40-film collection (on DVD) and an Eastwood 20-film collection (on Blu-ray). It has its TV debut on TCM on May 30.
