Is Christopher Nolan directing the next 007 film?

May 19, 2013

The Daily Mail‘s Baz Bamigboye reports that Christopher Nolan is in early talks with James Bond bigwigs Barbara Broccoli and Michael G .Wilson, with hopes that he’ll be sitting in the director’s chair left vacant by director Sam Mendes.

It would seem that with Nolan entering pre-production on his forthcoming sci-fi film Interstellar, the chances of him jumping straight into another hugely time-consuming property like the James Bond films would seem slim.

However, Bamigboye was frequently on the money with his various scoops throughout SKYFALL’s life-cycle, so it could well be the case that Broccoli and Wilson have at least contacted Nolan about his availability after Interstellar.

Nolan has said that he’s a big James Bond fan and his directing style on The Dark Knight trilogy would blend very nicely with this generations take on 007.  If Nolan doesn’t direct the next Bond film, one has to assume that it would only be a matter of time before he does.
