The Official Poster For Spike Lee’s “Oldboy” Remake

July 9, 2013

FilmDistrict has released the first official theatrical one-sheet for Spike Lee’s remake of OLDBOY, starring Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Samuel Jackson, Bruce Hornsby, and James Ransone.

A cool fact to point out is that the Oldboy logo itself is Josh Brolin’s handwriting – inspired by the letters his character writes to his daughter through the film while locked up.

In theaters October 25th, “Oldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

I’ve seen the original and it’s a damn good film. It’s also only 10 years old. I feel like it didn’t really need to be remade here in America, but oh well. I must be a select few who doesn’t mind watching foreign films in subtitles or dubbed in English.

Let’s just say the remake has some big shoes to fill.
