The Update On Showtime’s “Dexter” Spinoff

July 31, 2013

For a while now there has been a rumor that we’ll get a DEXTER spinoff on Showtime, but nothing will be confirmed until the popular series ends later this summer.

At the Television Critics Association Press tour, Showtime Entertainment President David Nevins was asked about the rumored Dexter spinoff and he responded with “we announced a deal with Scott Buck today. Draw your own conclusions,Crave reported.

There’s nothing actively happening,” said Nevins, adding he’s made no deals with any cast members for another series.

Of course all options will be explored… We’re really not dealing with it at all until we’re through this season and maybe for a while thereafter.

Some feel he was being hesitant because he didn’t want to spoil the ending to this season.

The original series is everything. I just dropped a hint or a tease,” offered Nevins. “It’s all about the satisfying ending to the show. We have a deal with Scott and we’re going to develop a bunch of different things with him. There’s nothing else to be concluded at this point. I don’t know anything. There’s nothing real. There’s no sense of whether it’ll happen, if it’ll happen but I want to stay in business with Scott.

Nevins concluded, “I think it ends with great satisfaction. That’s all I’ll say. I haven’t seen it yet but I have read it and I think it’s quite brilliantly built to.

Which character do you think deserves their own show? I’ve heard Deb mentioned a lot, but I’m not that interested. Masuka however…
