“Oblivion” Director In Talks To Direct “The Twilight Zone”

August 18, 2013

Variety reports that Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski is in negotiations to direct Warner Bros.’ bigscreen version of THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

Synopsis: “A test pilot winds up breaking the speed of light; when he puts down his craft, he discovers that he’s landed a bit late for supper — 96 years late.

Joby Harold, Tony Peckham, Rand Ravich and Jason Rothenberg all worked on the script.

The studio is not seeking to remake an episodic movie, such as The Twilight Zone movie did 25 years ago. The new film would instead build one continuing story line based on one or more episodes. There will only be one director and one storyline.

I think The Twilight Zone works better in an episodic format. I’d rather see multiple stories instead of one long one. The Twilight Zone is one of my favorite shows so I’ll be keeping an eye out for this project.
