“Pirates Of The Caribbean 5” Release Date Delayed

September 11, 2013

Deadline reports that PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 5: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES, is being pushed back an entire year from it’s original summer 2015 release date.

Why? It could have something to do with the already crowded summer in 2015. There are a lot of huge films coming out. However, some blame The Lone Ranger and the fact that Disney loss $200M due to its poor performance at the box office. The Hollywood Reporter also claims that there are issues with the script.

As of right now, expect the fifth installment to hit theaters in the summer of 2016.

The sequel is being directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg from a script by Jeff Nathanson (Tower Heist, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).
