Arnold Schwarzenegger To Play “Avatar 2” Villain?

September 17, 2013

With three more sequels on the way, I guess the humans can’t be done terrorizing the Na’vi just yet. Was the first Avatar just a fad, or will the sequel bring in another billion dollars? We’ll have to wait and see, but if this actor truly is the antagonist, then history could be made.

Latino Review‘s El Mayimbe is reporting that Arnold Schwarzenegger will play the lead antagonist in James Cameron’s Avatar 2. This would mark the first time the two have worked together in over 20 years. The last time James Cameron directed a movie with Schwarzenegger was 1994’s True Lies.

This wouldn’t be the first time Arnold played a villain in one of Cameron’s movies (Terminator), but it is a role that Arnold rarely takes. I think the last time Arnold played a villain was in Batman And Robin… which is best to be forgotten.

No further details were provided, but I could be onboard with Arnold as a bad guy. His recent movies haven’t been as successful as he’d hope and I feel Cameron knows how to best utilize Schwarzenegger as an actor.
