Ridley Scott Says “Prometheus” Sequel Is Still Happening

October 28, 2013

During a press panel for The Counselor, director Ridley Scott was asked about the current state of Prometheus 2 (Paradise), which has been in development hell since screenwriter Damon Lindelof left the project.

Good news for fans, he confirms that the screenplay is still being written. Screenwriter Jack Paglen (Transcendence) was hired back in June to figure out a way to continue the story of Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and the Engineers. Originally, Prometheus was supposed to be a stand alone film, but the story was later changed to make a trilogy.

Scott will produce again through his Scott Free banner, but it’s currently unknown if he will direct.

Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are also expected to return.
