“Prometheus” Sequel Probably Won’t Happen Until 2016

October 30, 2013

I really enjoyed Prometheus and look forward to the sequel, but it looks like it may be a long time until it happens… if it happens.

Ridley Scott told Empire Magazine, “Prometheus 2 is written. I have already got the next two films ready to go. That will be 2014, 2015…”

Scott’s next film is the Biblical epic Exodus, which has already lined up Christian Bale (Moses), John Turtorro (Pharaoh Seti), Sigourney Weaver (Tuya, Seti’s wife) and Joel Edgerton (Pharoah Ramses). The other is described as “this science-fiction thing”.

It doesn’t look like his schedule will be free until 2016 to direct Prometheus 2. I don’t know if I can wait that long. The longer it takes also means the greater the chance that it won’t happen.
