January 16, 2014

It looks like Ultron won’t be the only villain in Marvel‘s THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Thomas Kretschmann (King Kong, NBC’s Dracula) has been cast as another antagonist in the comic book sequel reports THR.

Kretschmann will be playing the role of Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker, a high-ranking officer of HYDRA, the organization run by Red Skull (Hugo Weaving) in Captain America: The First Avenger. Word is that Von Strucker will somehow be linked to two new members of the superhero team, Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be written and directed by Joss Whedon from his screenplay. Production will begin in March 2014 and hit theaters on May 1st, 2015.
