New Actor Joins Stephen King’s “Cell” Adaptation

Actor Stacy Keach (American History X, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) has joined the cast of the currently filming adaptation of Stephen King’s THE CELL. The film stars Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan, The Hunger Games), John Cusack (The Raven) and Samuel L. Jackson (RoboCop).

Fuhrman plays the teenage neighbor of Cusack’s character, Clay Riddell, who joins him and Jackson’s character, Tom McCourt, on their journey to safety after a mysterious pulse spreads like a virus through the human population. Keach will play the headmaster of a prep school where the survivors stop along their way.

The film is an adaptation of the Stephen King novel “about an apocalyptic event that amounts to a pitch heard by anyone on a cell phone at a certain moment in time, which turns them into zombified beings with a herd mentality.

Tod Williams (Paranormal Activity 2) is directing from a script by King and Adam Alleca.
