Yahoo! shared this beautiful Mondo poster for the SXSW premiere of the newly restored version of 1954’s Gojira. Check out the poster designed by Phantom City Creative.

Gareth Edwards, the director of the new version, will be hosting a screening of the classic monster movie at the Ritz Alamo Theater in downtown Austin on March 11th at 9:30PM. The restored, original Japanese version contains 40 minutes of footage not seen in the American edit. Attendees will receive a copy of the limited-edition poster.

Synopsis: “Possibly the last of an ancient species of giant amphibious creatures that evolved at a time when the surface of the Earth was over ten times more radioactive that it is today. Godzilla can convert his radiation stores into a violent, focused exhalation of atomic ray. Rarely seen, but spoken of in ancient Pacific Island myths, “Gojira” was last spotted in 1954, when the U.S. Navy encountered and attempted to kill him with an atomic blast in the Pacific Ocean. Since then, the giant creature has been living in the deep ocean – until a threat to his survival from an ancient foe forces him to reappear.

The cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Johnson, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Richard T. Jones, Sally Hawkins, Akira Takarada, Victor Rasuk, Yuki Morita, and C.J. Adams.

Godzilla, directed by Gareth Edwards, will hit theaters on May 16th, 2014.
