“The Lego Movie” Sequel Finds A Director

The upcoming sequel to Warner Bros.‘ box office hit, THE LEGO MOVIE, has already landed writers and a release date. Now, the studio has attached Emmy winning director Chris McKay (“Robot Chicken”) to helm the sequel, taking over the duties from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. McKay was animation co-director on the first film.

Michelle Morgan (“Girl Most Likely”) and Jared Stern (“Wreck-it Ralph”) are currently writing the script. Lord and Miller are also returning, but as executive producers.

The sequel is set to hit theaters on May 26th, 2017.
