First Look At WWE Studios’ “Leprechaun: Origins”

Here’s the first clip from WWE Studios’ Leprechaun: Origins, directed by Zach Lipovsky from a script by Matt Venne and Harris Wilkinson.

The picture stars Dylan Postl (WWE’s Hornswoggle), Brendan Fletcher, Teach Grant, Andrew Dunbar, Stephanie Bennett, Bruce Blain, and Adam Boys.

No official plot has been given, but the picture will hit theaters this summer.

The quality looks professional, but it doesn’t mean anything if the new leprechaun can’t fill the boots of Warwick Davis. The Leprechaun franchise never should have been as successful as it was. The multiple sequels were a result of Davis and his charismatic, hilarious performance. I don’t think the equation works without him. Warwick is still in great shape and I’m sure he would love to do the role again. And since the title says “Origins” (although it’s probably more of a remake) I’d love to see a movie with Warwick and how the leprechaun was captured by Dan O’Grady from the original movie.

I’ll wait for an official trailer, but I still have a bad feeling about this one.

Hell, give this film an ending where the leprechaun played by Davis becomes bitter and it’d be a great origins story‚Ķ
