New “Amityville” Movie Finds A Director And Cast

March 24, 20140 Comments

The upcoming AMITYVILLE sequel (formerly titled The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes) from Blumhouse Productions will be directed by Franck Khalfoun (P2, Maniac). The Maniac remake with Elijah Wood was surprisingly good, so this new Amityville project finally has something to get excited about. In some other good news, it appears that the found footage angle has been dropped.

Jennifer Jason Leigh (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Weeds) will star. Leigh will be playing Joan, a single mother raising three kids all on her own. The family move into the infamous “Amityville” house, only to learn that it has a very dark history.

TheWrap also reports that Disney Channel star Bella Thorne has joined the cast. She’ll soon be appearing in Voltage Pictures’ thriller, Home Invasion.

Amityville will be distributed January 2nd, 2015 by TWC-Dimension.
