“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Reshoots Delay Release Date?

April 1, 20140 Comments

The unconfirmed report states that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot is being pushed back in order to complete necessary reshoots that make up roughly one third of the film…

Producer Michael Bay will personally be overseeing the reshoots. No word on whether the director Jonathan Liebsman will return. The film was originally going to be released August 8th, but will likely be pushed to November or December if the report is true.

The first trailer received very mixed reactions, especially involving the new origin story involving Shredder and April O’Neill’s father. It’s unclear what is being reshot or added. Are they altering the origin story, or the entire third act? Lastly, the reshoots are said to be taking valuable post-production time away from Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Synopsis: “The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.”

The film stars Megan Fox, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, and Whoopi Goldberg.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters on August 8th.
