“V/H/S” Director To Helm New “Friday The 13th”

TheWrap reports that genre veteran David Bruckner, who wrote and directed the “Amateur Night” segment in V/H/S, is in negotiations to direct the Friday the 13th reboot for Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes.

Platinum Dunes principals Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, and Michael Bay, who produced 2009’s Friday the 13th, are returning.

There aren’t any plot details, but past rumors have hinted that the new film will use the found-footage gimmick. Other reports, however, say that’s been dropped. But it is interesting that they’re eyeing a director with found-footage experience.

Bruckner previously co-wrote and co-directed the 2007 horror film The Signal, and he has also been working on the home invasion thriller Intrusion for producers Doug Davison and David Linde.

Paramount has scheduled the next installment to hit theaters on Friday, March 13th, 2015. They have less than one year. Go!
