Our page blew up with the announcement of a new Friday the 13th television series yesterday. Well, we have new details on what to expect. Check out yesterday’s announcement here.

Producer Daniel Farrands, who helped conceive the series with Geoff Garrett, responded to fan criticism over the alleged “storyline that re-imagines Jason in multiple time periods.”

We will be exploring the origins of the Voorhees family, Farrands told F13Franchise, namely Pamela and Jason Voorhees, but doing so in flashbacks to past events that will be running concurrently with present day story lines.”

There is absolutely no time traveling of any kind,” he clarifies.

According to the announcement, the series is mostly contemporary, focusing on the characters of Crystal Lake who are forced to confront the return of the killer, as new secrets about the Voorhees family are revealed.

On top of the new TV show, Paramount and Platinum Dunes are currently in talks with David Bruckner to direct the Friday the 13th reboot for a 2015 theatrical release. Read more about the new movie here.

What are you guys more excited for? Another reboot film or the television series? With the success of Bates Motel and Hannibal, I’m more interested in a series.
