Early Reactions To “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” Are Positive

May 8, 20140 Comments

I have a love/hate relationship with Fox’s “X-Men” franchise. However, these early Twitter reactions to a screening of X-Men: Days of Future Past have renewed my interest. The reactions are extremely positive and apparently Quicksilver is a surprise hit. Check out what people are saying below, as well as the latest news on X-Men: Apocalypse.

“My next goal is how did the X-Men come together?” director Bryan Singer told SciFi Now. “That story hasn’t been told yet, so [Days of Future Past] is the inbetweenquel,” laughs Singer. “It’s in between the birth of that relationship with Charles and Erik and the formation of the X-Men.” So, does this mean Apocalypse is in the right period to revisist and recast Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm? “Yeah, exactly,” Singer confirms.

“In a way, it feels like from this point forward we can do whatever we want,” says producer/screenwriter Simon Kinberg, “but we’ll be moving forward with some of the actors from the First Class/Days of Future Past cast, so there’s stuff we’ve done in these last couple of movies that we’ll definitely continue doing for them, at least in Apocalypse, if not more movies going forward.”

Twitter reactions:

@elmayimbe – Is it as good as THE WINTER SOLDIER y’all ask? Well, mutants ain’t my thing & I’m a tad biased towards Cap but yes, it’s just as good!

@elmayimbe – Surprisingly, QUICKSILVER wasn’t corny.

@colliderfrosty – X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is great. Film finds a way to make both casts work & Quicksilver…wow. His main scene is highlight of the film.
