“Friday The 13th” Re-Reboot Pushed Back For “Scouts Vs. Zombies”

Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes’ latest remake of Friday the 13th has been pushed back to make room for Scouts vs. Zombies.

Currently filming in Los Angeles, Paramount’s Scouts vs. Zombies has taken the March 13th, 2015 slot. The film is being directed by Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones). Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, and Joey Morgan star as three scouts who, on the eve of their last camp, discover the true meaning of friendship when they attempt to save their town from a zombie outbreak. Also starring is Sarah Dumont, David Koechner, Cloris Leachman, Halston Sage and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The new Friday the 13th will now hit theaters on November 13th, 2015. David Bruckner (The Signal, V/H/S) is in talks to direct. Thankfully, it looks like it will no longer be a found footage movie.

Usually a pushed back release date would upset me, but hopefully this will give them more time to figure out what the hell they’re doing with Jason and the franchise.
