Warner Brothers To Reboot Live-Action “Scooby-Doo” Movie

Warner Bros. is in the early stages of rebooting Scooby-Doo into another live-action feature film, reports Deadline. Randall Green has been hired to write the screenplay. Original producer Charles Roven, is back and will produce for Atlas Entertainment.

Scooby-Doo is a Hanna-Barbera television cartoon series adapted into a live-action film in 2002. The film was directed by Raja Gosnell, scripted by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and starred Freddie Prinze, Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Linda Cardellini, Matthew Lillard and Rowan Atkinson. The film grossed $268 million worldwide. A sequel, Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed was released in 2004 and a direct-to-TV prequel, Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins, was released in 2009.

I’m not a fan of cartoons being turned into live-action films or “hybrid” adaptations that feature live-action and computer-generated characters. I love Scooby-Doo and would rather have a full CGI film with the characters looking how they’re supposed to. What do you guys think? Are you interested in another live-action Scooby-Doo movie?
