WB’s “The Batman” Coming In 2019 With Ben Affleck To Direct?

El Mayimbe from Latino Review is reporting that Warner Bros. has plans to produce a solo Batman film starring Ben Affleck.

The rumored title is The Batman and would hit theaters in 2019, one year after the release of the rumored Man of Steel 2. Affleck currently doesn’t have any directing gigs after 2016’s Live By The Night. Therefore, the word is that Affleck could also possibly be directing The Batman.

In case you missed it, a tentative release schedule for the DC Cinematic Universe was leaked including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (May 2016), Shazam (July 2016), The Sandman (Christmas 2016), Justice League (May 2017), Wonder Woman (July 2017), a Flash and Green Lantern team-up film (Christmas 2017) and Man of Steel 2 (May 2018). Many fans were upset that Batman was nowhere to be seen, but perhaps plans have changed. Hopefully we’ll have some sort of confirmation towards the end of July during Comic Con.

If his sources are correct, can you wait 5 years for The Dark Knight’s next solo adventure, The Batman? Is Ben Affleck starring and directing the right choice? Sound off below.

Bearing in mind this project is five years out, I wouldn’t expect official confirmation or denial from the studio any time soon.
