Sigourney Weaver and most of the original cast from Ridley Scott’s 1979 ALIEN have returned to lend their voices to some DLC for the upcoming video game ALIEN: ISOLATION. Sounds awesome, but be sure to pre-order from GameStop if you want to relive scenes from the original film. During the main gameplay, you play as Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda as she searches for her mother 15 years after the events of ALIEN.

Press Release:

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Sigourney Weaver and the cast of “Alien” are returning to the starship Nostromo. The actress who portrayed unflappable officer Ellen Ripley in the “Alien” film franchise is reprising her role in an upcoming video game set after the events of the original 1979 film. Weaver and several cast members from filmmaker Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror film recorded new dialogue and will have their likeness appear in bonus levels of “Alien: Isolation.” Other cast members returning to their roles as Nostromo crew members include Tom Skerritt, Yaphet Kotto and Veronica Cartwright. The central story of “Isolation” centers on Ripley’s daughter Amanda. She was briefly mentioned in a scene from the 1986 sequel “Aliens.” The game marks the first time Weaver has reprised the role since the 1997 sequel “Alien Resurrection.”

The DLC contains two missions, both allowing players to relive classic scenes from the original movie.

Everyone who pre-orders the game will get a free upgrade to the ‘Nostromo Edition’, which includes the first of the two DLC missions, entitled “Crew Expendable”. Taking place moments after the death of Brett, it sees players assuming the role of Ripley, Dallas or Parker, as the crew of the Nostromo attempt to flush the alien from the air vents and into the ship’s airlock. Depending on which character you choose, you’ll have a slightly different perspective on events and will begin with different resources.

The second pre-order mission – “Last Survivor” – will be available through select retailers depending on territory. Set during the film’s dramatic finale, you play as Ripley and must activate the Nostromo’s self-destruct sequence and reach the Narcissus shuttle in order to escape.

Alien: Isolation will be available October 7th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
