Video: J.J. Abrams With An X-Wing; STAR WARS 7 Plot Details

Star Wars Episode VII doesn’t come out until December 2015, but secrets have been slowly leaking out from the closed sets. Badass Digest writer Devin Faraci offers new details concerning the film’s plot and characters. Beware of possible spoilers.

According to Faraci the film will open with the iconic Star Wars crawl, but rather than the shot moving to a spaceship flying through space the camera will pan to a severed hand grasping a (Jedi) lightsaber. The weapon eventually lands on a desert planet where it is discovered by (eventual heroes) John Boyega and Daisy Ridley. Recognizing it to be a Jedi relic they plan to return it to it’s owners, taking them into space where they meet Han Solo and Chewbacca piloting a ship that is not the Millenium Falcon.

The pair recognize the lightsaber as Luke Skywalker’s, however they haven’t seen Luke since the events of Return Of The Jedi 30 years ago. This leads the film’s protagonists on a search for Luke Skywalker.

Word is that Boyega will be playing a Storm Trooper who deserts and joins Daisy Ridley’s character. Badass Digest declares, “Boyega as a storm trooper is the single most confirmed piece of news I’ve ever written about in terms of sheer volume of independent sources who agree.”

As for the film’s villains, Faraci claims that nefarious forces are creating a super weapon on an icy planet. The weapon is much more powerful than the Death Star, capable of destroying entire solar systems. Whoa.

If true, what do you guys think about all these details? A Storm Trooper deserter? Sounds interesting.

Until this is all confirmed, check out the below video with director J.J. Abrams standing with an X-Wing on the set of Star Wars Episode VII in which he talks about Star Wars: Force for Change.

In a special video message from the set of Star Wars: Episode VII, director J.J. Abrams announces the creation of Star Wars: Force for Change, a brand new Star Wars initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm, in collaboration with Bad Robot, dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems. The first Star Wars: Force for Change campaign will raise funds and awareness for UNICEF’s Innovation Labs and its innovative projects benefitting children in need. To support the launch of Star Wars: Force for Change, Disney has committed $1 million, and fans can now donate directly at http://bit.ly/ForceForChange for a chance to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII. By pledging as little as $10 through the Omaze fundraising platform, any eligible supporter will be automatically entered for a chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The campaign runs from 12:01am PST on May 21st until 11:59pm PST July 18th.
