Open Road Films has pulled Eli Roth’s cannibal horror movie The Green Inferno from release just weeks from it’s September 5th opening.

Deadline claims “this happened because financier Worldview Entertainment is balking at ex-CEO Christopher Woodrow’s commitment to provide the P&A [prints and advertising costs].”

“(Worldview) just don’t have the money to pay for the release,” claims Showbiz 411’s unnamed source.

Director Eli Roth took to Twitter to state that the parties are working towards a solution:

Eli Roth @eliroth – BREAKING: off the menu for Sept http://m.deadline.com/2014/08/worldview-woes-take-eli-roth-amazon-cannibal-tale-green-inferno-off-menu/  Everyone is working to solve this ASAP. Thank u for understanding!

Synopsis: The Green Inferno follows a group of student activists who travel from New York City to the Amazon to protect a dying tribe, but crash in the jungle and are taken hostage by the very natives they saved.”

Starring Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Daryl Sabara, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Sky Ferreria, Magda Apanowicz, Aaron Burns, and Ignacia Allamand.
